N: hahahah... diba ung sa * post mo... hahahaha y you chose Mar roxas... hahahaha

Z: lol... yung post ko Sa * impluwensya ni mommy... elementary undergraduate.  Definitely not an intellectual elitist. But I admit I love the title. Wahaha...

---

Needless for me to say, I'm actually enjoying this. Hahaha.

Duterte man or roxas or Poe or whoever, I love you nessss!!! Wahaha!

I'm in no way a duterte hater. I actually love the guy to bits. But I'm still voting for Mar roxas. Please don't hate me. Haha.

This line from that post though...

"We we're merely posting ruined lives and dreams because of the government's incompetence."

I don't know...  I think the government can only do so much. Sure, it can influence people's lives but it's not that we cannot do anything about it, right? I think people should stop finding solutions to their problems from the government. I just find it childish.

The government is responsible for the nation's concerns.  You are responsible for your own concerns no matter how much you believe otherwise. I think this whole thing is not about us but the whole nation. But of course,  I could be mistaken.

The promise of peace and order from duterte is really good. But I think the lack of peace and order is just the symptoms of our nation's real problem. You don't stop the problem by curing the symptoms.  You have to cure the cause. I think the cause is poverty. That's why I chose Mar roxas because with his education (bs economics major in finance) and background,  he seem to be capable of doing that. Based on his track record,  he seem to be focused on that too (most of the bills he passed were related to sme's,  education and employment even back when he was still a congressman).

Still, I could be wrong. So if you're thinking of voting for duterte, go ahead. I'm actually excited to see how he can change rp if he will indeed win. But my vote will still go for Mar roxas.

-----

Grand feast tomorrow.  I just read that fr. Mario is going to be there. This would probably be his Last mass in rp before he goes to Rome.

The last time my stomach hurted like this, I was Sent to the hospital. Must be GERD.  Sana mawala na to mamaya.. huhu.

Even if "lack of peace and order" is just a "symptom" of the "real" problem, we cannot just ignore it and expect to "cure" the "real" problem.

It would be difficult to ignore "pain" and go straight to an operation.

One point though, I don't think poverty is the "real" problem. It is also a symptom. Our problem is not a simple one, it goes around.

From my point, I am desperate to feel safe again in my own home which is Metro Manila. Last time I was there (I'm an OFW and goes back home every 6 months), it felt like a ghetto (always fearing hold-ups, crimes, etc.). I've been to different places and have not been anywhere where while riding a bus, you see the tv screen warn you not to sleep and to be wary of snatchers.

1. Mar knows economics.

I will prioritize safety and clean government over economics. No, I don't think economics is unimportant. But, I keep remembering business people, the small ones, being murdered, harassed. Who really benefits from the "economics over safety" priority? Those who can afford to secure their own safety, maybe with personal guards, etc. (there's also truth in the claim that the OFW is a big factor in keeping the economy afloat)

2. One of our real problems is that we are a divided country. I was amused to see one post arguing that Duterte shouldn't be president because he's a leftist, and he said so himself. If he is indeed one, then he is a leftist who believes in the constitution. The opportunity that I see here is that if he is indeed a leftist, then he is somebody that the other leftists can listen to and trust. Our country needs somebody who can bind us together, not divide (remember Mar's "You have to understand you are a Romualdez and the President is an Aquino"?)

I don't know. I just sense that Duterte has a heart for the country and he seems to understand ordinary people. He is also decisive and can execute well (based on his performance in his city)- qualities that is difficult to associate with Mar.

In the end, it's the majority who will decide. God bless the Philippines. :)

Thank you for voicing out your opinion.

It's been hard trying to find an objective view point from the internet nowadays since most of the articles I've been stumbling upon have been full of hate and bashing that's why reading your comment is such a breath of fresh air.

"Who really benefits from the "economics over safety" priority?"-- from how I view it, if the government could successfully lift the Philippine economy, if they would be able to provide jobs or other sources of income for the poor families in the country and provide education for their children, then our people would be too busy to commit crime in the first place. But of course I'm disregarding the crimes commited by those who are not exactly poor.

Though we have different opinion regarding economy and security, I think you're right about the division being a problem part. It honestly didn't occur to me earlier until I read your comment.

I am not exactly a pro mar roxas. I'd rather say I'm pro Philippines but that would be too mushy. I would love to vote for Duterte because I love his vision but I do not believe in his ways. I don't know if voting for the next best thing is a wise choice. I wish I can tell you that I know better, but I dont. Still, I think both you and I have rp's best interest in mind.

Yes, in the end, it's the majority who will decide. I hope we could all make the right choice.

And yeah, God bless Philippines.
